Produced on 11 municipalities, Cour-Cheverny AOC has the exclusivity of the rare and unique grape variety : the Romorantin. It was introduced by the king François 1st in 1519 and was planted in Romorantin city where it adapt itself so well than it took its name.
Romorantin grape
This grape variety found on our silicieous soil all its potential of expression to give birth to a white wine very original and typical. Most of the time, Romorantin grapes gives dry and subtil wines but can be semi dry when its harvested later.
Cour-Cheverny wines
They are dry and lively and are characterized by a very big length in mouth. Pleasant in their youth, when they are tasted " on the fruit ", they are particularly capable of the ageing: their colour takes then golden reflections and their delicate flavors have notes of honey and locust tree.
